Yale MUN SOUTH ASIA DELEGATE COMPETITIONS

Arts Competition

All registered delegates of YMUN South Asia are eligible to participate in the 2025 Arts Competition.

This year’s theme, Empowering Voices: Global Citizenship, calls on delegates to reflect on the role of individual expression in promoting collective responsibility, empathy, and global awareness. Submissions should explore how personal voices and actions can contribute to a more just, inclusive, and cooperative world.

Delegates must submit original work created using two-dimensional visual media - such as drawings, paintings, collages, or mixed media. Submissions in video, sculpture, or other three-dimensional formats will not be accepted.

All submissions must include a short statement of at least 200 words explaining how the artwork connects to the competition theme. By entering this content, the artist agrees to allow YMUN South Asia to post their work on our website and social media platforms publicly. Selected winners will receive a special prize at the conference.

ESSAY Competition

All registered delegates of YMUN South Asia are eligible to participate in the 2025 Essay Competition!

This year’s theme, Forging the Future of South Asia, calls on delegates to reflect on the history and geopolitics of South Asia. As the region faces urgent issues, including climate change, gender injustice, and economic inequality, youth in South Asia are leading conversations and activist movements to shape the future. Submissions should explore pressing policy challenges in South Asia that deserve more youth engagement and consider actions to amplify youth in leadership.

Delegates must submit an original piece no longer than 1,000 words in length, typed in English. Submissions should be double-spaced, 12 point font, and 1-inch margins. Any outside sources, including quotations, statistics, and writing from other authors, must be appropriately cited in MLA format.

We invite delegates to think boldly and challenge conventions. Selected winners will receive a special prize at the conference.
