Yes! Independent delegations are welcome. However, if you are under 18 years of age, you must ensure that you have an advisor who will accompany you and serve as a principal point of contact. Advisors can be teachers, parents, independent counselors, or other forms of student guardians.

While we greatly appreciate your interest, at this time our applications for the executive board have closed. We strongly encourage you to register as a delegate so that you can still experience the wonderful committees and out-of-committee programming available at YMUN South Asia.

All payments will be processed through our registration platform, which enables international payment through Stripe. The registration platform will automatically calculate a balance based on the number of delegates being registered. Payments do not need to be submitted immediately, but your registration will only be considered complete after we have received your payment.

While there is no formal age limit, delegates must be in high school (secondary school) or equivalent. Recent graduates of high school may participate ONLY IF they have not yet begun their undergraduate studies by the time of the conference.

The delegation registration fee grants students access to nearly every aspect of the conference! In terms of events, this fee grants access to all committee sessions, our keynote speaker event, the delegate social, and all out-of-committee programming including workshops led by Yale students and local youth organizations and nonprofits. We will also host a panel on Life at Yale and College Admissions.

Additionally, each delegate will also receive a welcome bag including items such as a notebook, pen, delegate guide, and other YMUN South Asia branded material. The fee will also grant them access to all delegate prep materials, including extensive topic background guides and office hours hosted by our Chairs. Finally, this fee covers lunch and tea for each day of the conference.

Our $60 advisor covers the venue and includes access to the lunch and tea that is provided each day of the conference. The PA is necessary to ensure that every student (provided they are under 18) has a reliable emergency contact available for them, and this fee is standard to all Yale Model UN conferences.

We understand that the advisor fee can sometimes serve as an additional barrier, so we encourage you to find other students to attend the conference with you. One advisor can serve as the advisor for up to 10 students while paying the same $60USD fee. For example, if you find another student to attend the conference under your advisor, you could each contribute $30 to the fee of the advisor.

Unfortunately, YMUN South Asia is operating on a limited budget, and we strive to provide financial aid to as many students as possible. As a result, YMUN South Asia will only be covering registration fees waivers in our Financial Aid program.  

Hotel accommodations and transportation from your hotel to the venue is NOT included in the delegate fee. As a result, there is no reduced registration fee for local participants. However, if any of your students feel that the fee would pose a significant burden to their participation, we have financial aid available. Click here for more information. Our conference schedule is still in the process of being finalized. Tentatively, you can expect the hours to be as follows:

• Friday, November 27: Check-in opens at 10am, final committee session ends by 7pm.

• Saturday, November 28: First session at 9am, delegate social ends by 9pm.

• Sunday, November 29: First session at 9am, closing ceremony ends by 4pm.
